So, it's been what, more than a week since I last posted? Woops! Let me try and fill in the blanks of where I've been and what I've been up to...
Last week we finally decorated our Christmas tree. It's funny how each year it takes less and less time to actually decorate the tree. I remember as a child it was an evening affair. Now, it was about thirty minutes. Sigh...
But, I do feel more Christmas-y now. And, that is good since Christmas is THIS week! (How did that happen, by the way?)
On the 11th I had my final exam for my first semester of culinary school. I knew my grade for my final that day, but I didn't know my final for the semester. Well, folks, I got an A!!! I think I need to take a report card home to my husband and see if I get a little treat for being such a good student.
Last Friday we drove to Baton Rouge for the weekend to see my in-laws and to celebrate Christmas with my MIL's crazy, fun family on Saturday and then with my FIL's really nice stepsons' families on Sunday.
On Sunday evening I had a flight back home to DFW so I can work this week. Boooo... My husband is staying on to spend time with his family and visit since we haven't made it to BR at all this year until now.
(In our defense, we're pretty spoiled in that his mom, dad and step mom are all retired and they come to Texas to see us. Please don't think we haven't seen them all year.)
I'll fly back to BR on Thursday and we'll be there for the Christmas weekend. In the meantime our house is so stinking quiet. We took both dogs with us and it's so lonely at home right now. But, having some quiet time is allowing me to get a few things done around the house before we have company for the New Year holidays.
I still need to pick up some stocking stuffers for my husband and MIL and I'm really hoping there are some Louisiana Satsumas in my stocking...
How about you? Are you ready for Christmas?

That all sounds good (except for the working part). Congratulations on your A! Woo hoo! That is terrific. Have a very Merry Christmas.
Can't wait to be your New Year's company next week!!
An "A"? WAY TO GO!!! You are a culinary rock star. :-)
I hope the next two days go by quickly so you can get back to hubby and the pups.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Congrats on the A!
Merry Christmas!

Amy
nice post. thanks.
Congratulations! And Merry Christmas! I hear you on the decorating your tree taking less and less time. Sigh. The nights of decorating were the best. I'm gonna string this out next year!
