Comments for a Cause

Many of you probably know that Daisy is hosting a food drive over at her blog. I would love to join her as I think it’s a great way for all of us to make a small step to helping others.

We give to the outreach fund at church for turkeys to be purchased, but we haven't been giving until it hurts. Or, even until we feel it. And, that's been weighing on my heart a lot lately.

So, for every comment on my blog from now until Thanksgiving Day, on this post or others, I will give one dollar toward canned goods or non-perishable food items to Mission Arlington.

Mission Arlington is a faith-based, non-profit in my city that is open 364 days per year to serve the Arlington and surrounding communities. Samplings of the services they offer are:

Food, Home and personal needs:
Clothing, Furniture and appliances, Household items, computers

Health and Dental services

Medical equipment loans

Transportation services:
Automobiles, gas vouchers, bicycles

Counseling services

Services for Children and Youth:
After school programs, school supplies, busing, camps, carnivals

The Christmas Store

Bible studies

Conversational English classes and Legal Aid

Mission Arlington is an amazing resource and I’m so proud to have helped out from time to time with my involvement in the Junior League of Arlington. They are such amazing and caring people and it would make my heart happy to give back to them this holiday season. Won’t you help me?

Mission Arlington takes me back! I went to Pantego Christian Academy and (at least when I was there) the elementary classes all adopted a needy family through MA. The class would bring in all the supplies for a full Thanksgiving dinner, right down to the turkey. We'd load up in the moms' cars and deliver the meal to the family. It was very special!
