Morning Madness

One of the things I try to be good about is being on time. I try not to be late when meeting people and try to be respectful of their time as well. However, I am not a morning person.

Let me repeat. I. Am. Not. A. Morning. Person.

I never have been and it's highly likely that I never will be. It seems like I always oversleep on ordinary days (days I don't have a meeting first thing, or someone specifically waiting on me) and then I'm rushing about to get out the door on time.

I try to be organized and have the things I know I'll need ready for me when I wake up. I've tried setting my alarm earlier, but somehow that never works.

So, I'm asking, what are your morning routines? How do you make the most of your time in the mornings? I mean, I'd love to be able to do the whole "shower at night" thing, but my hairstyle just won't allow it. Actually, my hair type won't allow it.

And, I've got to figure out how to be more time-wise in the a.m.

I wish I could wake up earlier to get a morning workout in but i have trouble waking up any earlier than 6 a.m. My morning routine consists of waking up at 6a.m., taking a shower, eating breakfast while watching the news, then get ready for work. I have to leave my house at 7 a.m. to get to work by 8. And that's pretty much what i do every weekday morning!

Honestly, I am exactly like you in that I am totally NOT a morning person...but recently I have been doing boot camp in the mornings. The hardest thing for me is to get out of bed, but once I am going...I am all set! I swear I feel so much more energized in the mornings because of it! That is my new morning routine and it is working wonders for a non-morning person!

I am SO not a morning person either! My mom had a poster of a grumpy kitten in my bedroom when I was a toddler that said "I am not a morning person." Ha!

I get up so much better if my husband gets up at the same time. This summer has been awesome, since he's getting up at the same time as me. And since he has to be at his summer job before I have to be at mine, I'm going in 45 minutes earlier every day and get to leave 45 minutes earlier every afternoon, which is AWESOME. I really want to stay on this come-in-early-leave-early schedule come fall, but I'm afraid I won't have the discipline to get up early while my cute and cuddly husband is so warm and well, cuddly!

I'm the same way - in fact my mom has said that I wasn't a morning person even as a baby! She would have to come to my crib and wake me up! At 11:00 a.m.! Needless to say, this has translated to real life and I suck at getting up/getting ready as an adult. I do notice that the mornings I get up a little early and do a few things around the house, such as empty last night dishes, etc., I'm more productive for the rest of the day - but they are few and far betwee. I prefer to use my snooze button a few times and then get the dog in bed to snuggle for a bit more time. :(

Luckily, I am a morning person. I'm up at 5:30...then outside for the pups pre-breakfast potty break, breakfast for the pups, another potty break, a little news, shower, ironing (I'm kind of fanatic about freshly ironed clothes), a little make-up and I'm in the car about 7:15.
