Weekend woes and new shoes

I have to admit that as a blogger who reads other blogs (obviously) I've been very intrigued with all the talk about a certain pair of shoes. I'm sure I don't even need to tell you which ones because it seems that everyone is talking about them.

Well, seeing as we have several trips coming up I decided it was time to have a good supportive pair of flats and not just cheap, cute ones. I kept looking at said flats and just couldn't get excited about them. So, I decided to peruse one of my fave brands and found these adorable flats.

I've mentioned before how I'm not big on logos and brand names on things; it's just not my style. I've looked at these before and when I saw they were on sale I decided to get them. I hope I like them; I'm pretty sure I will.

I also found this cute little bag, also perfect for traveling (and that will be its main purpose) at Marshall's for $32! What a deal! I took my mom and stepmother in law to Home Goods (do you all have Home Goods?) and we decided to run through Marshall's real quick. I never find anything at these stores and I only browsed the bags since I new after my recent trip I needed to replace the travel bag that had seen its last trip. I had been looking at wristlets, but love the idea of having my hands free with this one.

The rest of the weekend was kind of a roller coaster. Our little dog has been sick, or rather not eating and being really mopey. Not like herself at all. We've been dog sitting a not so well-behaved dog and I'm pretty much to the point I'd like her to leave. (Does that sound awful? I think it does, but the dog doesn't even know her name, gets out of our yard and the well of hospitality has run dry. Sorry.)

My in-laws have been visiting and there has been mucho tension between my husband and his father. They are very different people and visits are never without stress. Also, I hate picking up after other adults. I'm sorry, but I do. If you are old enough to get yourself a beverage or snack you are old enough to cleanup after yourself. Period.

They drive back home today and the dog goes home on Wednesday and my husband and I are both looking forward to some peace and quiet. And, we're really hoping the little dog gets her appetite back soon.

Phew! I need another day off! How was your weekend?

Home Goods is one of my FAVORITE stores. Sadly our shopping choices are pretty scarce out here in the middle of nowhere, but back home in CA there is one not 15 minutes away from my parents home. I shop there whenever we go to visit and let me tell you it is pure bliss!
