I was doing some web surfing while enduring another Sunday of football today and came across this article. Now, lots of you know I've been very focused on home improvement projects lately and spending lots of money on them. There are more things on my list than I care to admit to you all and they all take money.
Well, this article has me intrigued. (OK, go read it and come back to discuss it. I'll wait for you.) It's about a women who makes a choice to not purchase any new clothes for one year and the impact it has on her. It has me intrigued simply because now that I'm married I find myself shopping more. And, I think I have this false sense of security and this gross habit of want.
I know it's wrong and especially since someday I hope to be able to call myself a stay at home mom, which of course means one income. So, I'm considering taking n this challenge of not buying any new clothes. I think I'll start for a month and build on that. Of course I will allow myself to have my current clothes altered and repaired by my tailor. That only seems logical to me.
I'm going to start today and I'll check in with you all and keep you updated on my progress. My goal of course, will be to continue to save my income for our emergency funds and put disposable income towards home projects. I'm certain I can do this and I know it won't be easy, but I think I'll find it worth it in the end.
Have any of you ever gone on an clothing diet How did it go? Any words of wisdom for me?

Wow!! I've been able to stop shopping for a season, but never for an entire year. I'm interested to see how it goes. I have faith in you!
That was an amazing article! I've been having the same problem as you- I spend a good amount of money on things for our home and will sometimes add clothing to my purchase too. It really made me think that I could really stand to watch what I'm spending our money on more. Can't wait to see how you do!
I could never do this (it's not a fact I'm proud of). Best of luck, and I'm looking forward to hearing how it goes~!
What a great article, thanks for sharing!=)
I love the idea of a clothing diet. I've done just fine this far with what I have ... why do I need to keep adding to it!?? Good luck and keep inspiring me! I just might join you. Xoxo-BLC
