A detox (of sorts)

Today I made decaf coffee. On purpose. How do I feel you ask? Meh.

You see, I've tried for a very long time to cut back on my caffeine consumption, but I've never been able to give up that one warm, tasty cup in the morning. It's my thing, my guilty pleasure, my security blanket when I'm not awake enough to deal with the stupid people on the road being awake before I'd like to be.

Well, after my appointment yesterday with my neurologist, I left thinking I really do need to try harder to give it up. I mean, if I'm ever going to be a parent I'll have to get off my meds and one thing that is possibly contributing likely not helping is caffeine.

So, alas, I'm going to give it an honest Girl Scout effort. Please accept my apologies if I'm grumpy...

WOW - that's a huge step. Can you just taper off rather than quit all at once? It might make your body react less violently! :)

Too much coffee is likely not a good thing... but my MD actually told me to keep drinking at least a cups worth a day.

Caffeine being a vasoconstrictor might help keep a headache away.

Just a thought. :-)
