He's Just Not That Into You

Last Sunday night Hubs and I watched He's Just Not That Into You. (WARNING: Spoiler alert if you haven't seen it yet. Stop reading now!)

I read the book when it came out and thought the Sex & the City episode was groundbreaking to say the least. (And, no, I'm not exaggerating, I really feel that way.) The whole idea was SO liberating to me when I was single.

Well, the movie was mediocre at best in my opinion. The Gennifer Goodwin character was annoying and I think a poor representation of a desperate woman. I don't know any women who acted as neurotic as she did. The Jennifer Connelly story line was just depressing and brought the whole movie down. (In fact, hubs and I had a conversation about it afterward about how it didn't seem to mesh with the rest of the plot lines and the whole point of the title. Or, maybe I'm just bothered at the whole way the media portrays infidelity likes it's normal.) The Ben Affleck and Jen Aniston line was the best out of them all. I know people who live together forever and never get married, but she wants to and he doesn't.

Have you all seen it? Did you read the book as well? What did you think?

I agree - didn't think the movie was great. I think they tried too hard to get different viewpoints that it just came out messy. Loved the cast, though!
