The theme of today's Show Us Your Life is China Patterns. And, I think this is a great way to peek inside some one's tastes. Don't you?
When my husband and I registered I knew I would register for china and crystal. I was a little on the fence about sterling. I knew I wanted it and always thought it was so special to use my mother's, but hardly anyone registers for this anymore. Also, it had to be the tight pattern. I had only seen very frilly sterling patterns and wanted something clean and easy to polish.
So, we made a deal. If we received four place settings, enough for us and another couple, we would keep them and keep building on them. If not, we would return them and finish up our china or crystal.
Low and behold we received all of our china and then some and six place settings of sterling! We actually received crystal the least. (My theory is Waterford scared people off, but it is quite affordable as far as wedding gifts go.)
So, here's what our formal table looks like:
Murray Hill by Lenox
Wynnewood by Waterford
Fairfax by Gorham
All of these patterns are very "us". A bit modern and classic, but never too ornate. It's really quite nice when the table is set with some lovely red or ivory placemats.
What about you? What are your patterns? Or dream patterns? I think it says so much about your style!

My china is Library Lane by Kate Spade/Lenox, my crystal is Lismore by Waterford (didn't get much either!) and our sterling is Danish Princess by International Co. I LOVE our formal table!!
As fun as it would be to have formal tableware I knew that for us and our families it just wouldn't be realistic. So no crystal and no sterling. And not even traditional, formal china. But it doesn't bother me because I figure if I ever want it, I can always get it in the future.
I love your china btw, when I was still considering fine china I almost went with a very similar pattern from the same brand. So pretty!
We didn't register for china or crystal stemware :(
We had a very small wedding and didn't want a disproportionate amount of our gifts to go to something less functional than the items we truly needed for everyday use. Of course the other alternative was that we wouldn't get anywhere close to a complete set and would have to return it all anyway. The other reason we didn't register for it is we simply do not have room. I do plan on purchasing china myself though, when we are "settled" somewhere bigger!
Your patterns are lovely! I especially love your sterling pattern. Perfectly classic!
I actually inherited a complete set of Noritake china from my grandmother - it's the set my dad bought for her while he was in Japan in the army. I love it - it's not what I would have chosen for myself, but I like it enough and the tradition behind it means the world to me. I did register for crystal and got everything we asked for.
Our china looks like this:

And our crystal is this pattern:

But, I found this other china and coordinates great with my grandmother's pattern, and I might start to mix and match at some point:

I think it would "modernize" my g'ma's patter.
Your things are so beautiful! We have federal platinum by Lennox as our china. I like yours better though!
Sorry, I misspelled Lenox. I always do that for some reason.
Did you change your blog design? The green looks so nice!
We have very similar tastes! We have the Mikasa Palatial china and the Waterford Marquis Caprice crystal. Very similar in style to the ones you have.
Sometimes I wonder why I registered for this stuff, but honestly I really like having it. Now, I just need to convince the husband that we really need a china cabinet so I can take everything out of the boxes!
