I know, I know, I should really be old enough to do this by now, right? But, it's harder than it seems. At least I think so. And, once I figured out to do it the way I describe below it's much easier and the results much better.
So, with that being said, here's how I've been doing this and it might just work for you too.
Note: I'm right-handed so this is clearly my dominant hand. If your a lefty than just swap out the right for left and vice versa...
- Start with clean hands and nails. File them how you like them and clean up your cuticles if needed. This cuticle nipper is SO easy to use.
- With your left hand, apply base coat your right hand nails but skip the thumb.
- Use your left thumb nail to clean around the edges if needed.
- Do the same thing on your left fingers with your right hand.
- Repeat with two coats of polish and a top coat. I like this one a lot.
- Wait about five minutes for your fingers to dry. Then paint your thumbs.
- Give yourself about ten minutes and voila!
It takes a little while to get the hang of, but in the end the results are so worth it. Here's my new favorite color for summer, OPI's Nantucket Mist:

Your nails look great! I need to give this a go!
You know, that is such a good idea to wait to paint your thumbs last so that you can do cleanup on the other nails. Super simple but something I've never even thought of!
That looks so pretty. You did such a good job.
