(Very late) weekend update

This past weekend was Ca-razy busy!

I volunteered for our church's wedding ministry on Friday evening and Saturday. The wedding ended up taking MUCH longer than I thought it would. The pictures went on forever! We finally had to ask them to pack up since the church needed to be ready for Mass. I did enjoy it and it brought back SO many memories of our wedding. It was cute when they kissed the groom dipped the bride. Cute!

Friday night after the rehearsal we went to see Julie & Julia and I made the big mistake of going hungry. Let me tell you I was Starving when the movie ended. And, the food looked so good this former vegetarian is considering the Boeuf Bourguignon recipe for my husband. Maybe.

Saturday after the wedding I came home and had about an hour before we headed to Chuy's for a birthday dinner of a friend of my husband's. Afterward we tried to go bowling at Splitsville in Arlington, but it was so crowded we were on a two hour wait for almost four hours. Yes, you read that right. They kept telling us it would be two hours. Well, I was so tired we left about 11:30 and sure enough they got a lane shortly after.

Sunday, we went to church and then I had to go into work for awhile. (Insert snide comment about working on a Sunday here.) Husband got to go on a tour of the new Cowboys Stadium but I had to skip so I could go work. And, I'm sure it was my chance to do it as I won't pay to tour the stadium and Sunday was free for Arlington residents. Sunday night we had my dad and his wife over for dinner. I made chicken with mushrooms and a delicious vegetable gratin. My husband made a fresh peach cobbler, from scratch. Go, honey, go! It was really tasty but all I could taste was butter. I suggested he cut the butter down if he makes it again. It was SUPER buttery.

Anyhow, we had a super busy weekend and I had no time to blog. And, Monday night i was pretty pooped too. And, laundry has been calling my name. We did manage to get out to take a walk with the big dog last night and it was still hot at 8:30 at night.

Tonight is kickball and Fuzzy's tacos so you won't hear from me again until tomorrow

morning. Happy Tuesday all!

Busy, busy bee! What is vegetable gratin? It sounds good - could you enlighten me since getting my husband to eat vegetables is sometimes like tricking a toddler?
