My brother, sister, niece and me at our rehearsal dinner. (I'm wearing heels so he doesn't seem as tall, but he is!)You know what really makes you feel old? When your younger sibling turns 30. It wasn't when I turned 30 or even when my best friends baby sister had a baby. (Even though she's plenty old enough to be a mom. Just seems like she'll always be 16 in my head for some reason.) Nope, it's when your kid brother turns 30. That right there, makes you feel a bit older, like you're no longer tied to the 20-year old generation. Like, even when you hang out, he's in his thirties now too so you can't think of yourself as hip or cool because, you know what, You're all checking a different box now.
But, I digress, I really do want to say a happy birthday to my still cool little brother. While our parents may give you a hard time about finding your way and growing up, I say as long as you're happy, I'm happy for you. And, you know what, even if you do end up showing up one day and saying, I'd like you to meet me wife (insert name here) I'm okay with that too. (Although, Hubs and I would totally go to Vegas with you!)

Aw, this is such a sweet post! Happy Birthday to your brother. I know what you mean about certain things making you feel older. For me, it was when my little cousin turned 21. I remember when I took care of her when she was a baby.

My brother is so much taller than me, they always ask if he's the oldest, but he's not...I am!
