I've been pretty busy lately and so I thought I'd sum up my last few days in a list of sorts for you all.
- I had a great visit with my sister on Friday night. (She fractured her knee a week ago and can't drive or get around very well at all. My BIL and niece were camping so I went to stay the night and help out with my nephew.)
- The wedding we went to on Saturday was a very happy one. But, they did the one thing I very much dislike at weddings. Took photos after the ceremony (and their wedding party was HUGE so it took forever) and didn't feed and water the guests. Well, we (the guests) ate the groom's cake by mistake. It was cupcakes that were set out. What? we were hungry!
- I'm kind of bummed. I had kind of gotten my hopes up that my husband had made plans for my birthday next week since he mentioned something the other day. Well, I was wrong. He wants to go to a music festival in Austin in October and have that be our birthday gifts. Guess I was wrong. (When is he going to learn birthdays are a BIG deal to me? And before you ask, yes I've flat out told him they are. No subtlety here.) Perhaps I should just go get myself something fabulous? He did just get his Playstation...
- I finished Bitter is the New Black on Sunday and I'm ready to go get the next book. Also, Jen Lancaster is coming to Dallas on May 11 for a reading in May and I'm planning on going. Any other Dallas area bloggers want to meet up? email me if you're interested thisbeautifulthing at gmail dot com.
- My library does not have these books! WTH? I'm trying to stop spending money on books and it's harder than you'd think!
- I read a great post by Ashley at Turquoise Ribbons and I think she has a very good
suggestion regarding blogging. You see, lately I've taken a few off of my list. Not because they aren't good blogs, but because I don't relate to them as much as I thought I would when I started reading them. And, also because I can tell there are others I feel like I connect with.
- I am joining our church's wedding ministry to help out with all the "behind the scenes" aspects of weddings at our church. I wanted to volunteer at church and was not feeling like toddlers were the perfect place for me. This, I know I'll love!

Oh I know what you mean about the books!! Our library is apart of the college library and you would THINK that that would mean there are new things. But NO. So, to cut my costs I order everything on eBay and buy the cheapest ones they have- and even with shipping its cheaper than buying at somewhere like B&N.
How awesome that you are helping out 'behind the scenes' with weddings at your church!!
I must go get Bitter is the New Black!;)
We did photos after our ceremony because I was 18 and wanted to really stick with tradition. But we served finger foods until we were done and it didn't take long at all because the individuals & party photos were done before hand. I see how you could mistake groom's cupcakes for a snack. LOL!!! XOXO
We did photos afterward too. I don't have any issue with that, just the making your guests wait for anything to drink or eat.
