This has been something I've struggled with for a very long time. I know, I know, it's really quite trivial, but my fair skin (read: almost pink) and reddish brown hair make it hard to find good colors for me. As such, I end up wearing just lip balm. Or Lip Venom since it just enhances my own coloring.
But, I guess when I entered my thirties I knew I truly needed a "go to" shade of honest-to-goodness lipstick. One I could go and buy without having to try on twenty and end up with overly red lips from wiping off colors I didn't like. Know what I mean?
Enter Nars. I'm not sure I would have looked at this line had my blog friend Pink Julep not mentioned how great their lipstick is.

Pretty color!! I still haven't found my signature lipstick color...
Too funny - this is one of my "go to" glosses and I just purchased a refill from Sephora as we were discussing on Twitter. I'm too fickle - I can't have a signature scent or lipstick because what I wear depends upon my mood. I wish I would be that decisive! I'm sure it look beautiful on you with your coloring.
OOOH! I love this post. I have the SAME issues. I'm so very pale and blonde...anything dark on me makes me washed out...light...well it doesn't really do anything!!
I have the same problem!! I have super fair skin as well so I think my go to color would be similar to Dolce Vita.

Yeah, Heather is right! We need a pic of you wearing it! I'm still in search of my shade! I wear a lot of MAC Viva Glam, but it's not the permanent shade. Love it! Enjoy!
