So annoying...

So, I think our house is jinxed. And, this is why.

It seems like most (not every) time my husband is out of town something weird happens in the house. Tonight it was the thermostat.

My mom came over for dinner and we were both saying how we were kind of cold. So, I go to check the thermostat to see what the temperature was. I was greeted with a "Replace Batteries" message. So, I unscrewed the thing and took it off the wall to replace the batteries. Sounds pretty standard so far, yes?

Then, I went to put it back on the wall and it would not stay. Oh, and the batteries kept falling out of the back. So, I taped them. But for some reason it would not stay on the wall.

And, seeing as how I had not talked to my husband all day I just thought I'd send him a note letting him know what crazy thing happened this time he was gone.

Well, I guess he took this as a sign to call me and ask if I did it right. Yes, those were his words. "Well, did you do it right?" Gah! I'm in Arlington and you're in Atlanta. I'm not asking you to fix this right now. I just wanted you to know so that Friday we can go to Lowe's and pick up another $30 thermostat.

So, the conversation was quite frustrating on my end. Mainly since I knew he was out with his cousins and now I look like the dumb ass wife who calls her husband in another time zone to fix something. Which, for the record, is totally not what I was trying to do.

Want to know the most annoying thing? Our whole conversation in two days was about a thermostat and me getting frustrated with him wanting to know what I was doing. Sigh.

P.S. Out thermostat is from the 80s. I looked it up. I think it's time to just replace it. Yes?

You don't look like one of those helpless wives, don't worry!

A thermostat from the 80's definitely needs to be replaced.

No worries! Yesterday I called my boyfriend in Arizona to fix my internet while I'm visiting California. It worked though!

Since it's gotten "chillier" in Austin the past week, it's taken my husband and I about 6 hours to reconfigure our thermostat. The only plus side is that it's still hanging on the wall.
