A troublesome gift

**I want to preface this post by saying I am in NO way complaining I received this gift.**

For our Easter baskets last Spring my mother in law gave us some cute goodies and also surprised us with two place settings of sterling silver. She's on a mission to make sure we have our whole set I think. She purchased them from Replacements, Ltd. and they were the wrong size. You see, our pattern has what's called "place size" and "dinner place size". Our collection is dinner place size and it's bigger than the place size. By at least a half inch.

So, I called Replacements, as I've done before about doing an exchange. They're usually pretty good about this. I send in the incorrect pieces and pay the difference to have the larger pieces sent back to me. (I have no problems paying the difference since I chose a larger place setting.)

So about three months ago I mailed in the silver and I've been waiting and emailing them to find out what the status of my order was. Generally they take about a month to process.

Well, my customer service rep has been emailing and telling me he was trying to locate my package. Wha-huh? You LOST my silver? Two whole place settings?

I've been going back and forth with him with the tracking number, delivery confirmation numbers, and order numbers for months now. Well, he FINALLY contacted me to tell me he found my order and he's processing it. Whew!

I think it would have been easier to buy the right size and sell the wrong size on eBay! Hopefully, I'll have the correct pieces in hand very soon.

P.S. My MIL has asked for the exact measurements to make sure future gifts are correct. Isn't she sweet?

Wow, customer service isn't a priority for them, huh?!

Your MIL is a sweetie thought to ask for measurement for future purposes. :-)

My MIL is also trying to complete my china/silver/crystal sets. Sorry you had trouble with the exchange. I am so glad they found your silver!
