You know I realized this weekend my husband is quite spoiled! I mean, he got to watch football ALL weekend.
He only got one thing on his list
of three things done (and he had Friday off as well!) and I ended up doing the others. Oh! And then, when I asked him what happened to you doing such and such he gives me this whole, "I'm sorry, I'm a bad husband, yada, yada, yada." I guess that's what happens when you have people coming over and the man in your house thinks the house is fine as is (with dishes in the sink, bills sitting out, etc.) and you don't.
Anyhow, I digress. My point is this - You know those stereotypes of men you see in movies and on commercials... the men sitting around, not doing a
damn thing and the wives in constant motion around them picking up after them, ready at their side to pick up spills and dirty plates? Yeah, that's kind of our house during football season. And, the
aggravating crazy thing is, it wasn't like this when we were dating, engaged or our first year. He was
a bit a lot more proactive back then. Maybe now, he figures, "she's locked in, it doesn't matter." But, it does matter.
And, the rest of the year he really can be quite helpful. He hates when I make him lists, but sometimes it's necessary. No kidding, I felt like a scene in a movie or something. He even missed church to catch the game. It's like a sickness! I'll call it football fever.
He's out of town this week for work and I'm looking forward to some rest. (Strangely the house stays much tidier when it's just me.... Hmmmm...)
Thanks for letting me rant... It's going to be a long fall.

Start a count down of when he goes back to your usual, helpful husband. :-)
I totally understand your frustration, but being a football lover myself, I almost cut my husband's head off last night when he asked me to do something during the Giants game. My guess would be that a compromise must be reached during non-football hours. Otherwise, you are just going to go crazy. But you are not the only household - trust me!
Ha -- I understand completely. For us, it's ACC basketball season that does this.
