Swoon...

So, like a lot of you when I began blogging I gave a lot of thought to the name of my blog. I wanted something that would accurately describe how I felt about being a newlywed and my relationship with my husband and the precious gift that it was. I chose This Beautiful Thing since the lyrics spoke to me. (Read this post for more details.)

Well, tonight I’m going to see one of my favorite bands, the Old 97s, the very band who wrote the song that is my blog’s namesake. I’m a bit of a ridiculous fan of this band (Read: I know every word to every song) and I’m super excited!
My husband likes this band too, but not to the crazed extent that I do. He actually thinks it rather cute how I’m not “into” the pretty hot lead singer, but definitely have a crush on the nerdier, more wholesome, bass player. Actually, it turns out most of my favorite songs are songs he sings.

It’s at Bass Hall in downtown Fort Worth and I’m hoping it’s still an energetic crowd as often they play venues like House of Blues and it’s a very fun bunch at their shows.

Needless to say, my Friday is crawling by and I’m so ready to go have fun! We're meeting some friends for dinner before the show and I'm the only one working until five o'clock today. (It's one of my husband's much envied "off Fridays". Yes, he gets every other Friday off. So not fair, right?)
