Hola Chicas! I'll spare you all the "I'm a bad blogger" nonsense. Instead, I'll just plan to get back on the wagon.
What have I been up to? Well, not a lot that's very exciting to be honest. This past weekend we didn't have the usual (read: crazy) amount of plans that we normally do. Friday night we went to see The Hangover and yes, it is truly hysterical. We laughed SO hard. We went to the Studio Movie Grill and were going to just eat dinner there but they didn't tell us the only seats left we're in the very front. So, we swapped out our tickets for a later show. We went over to Gloria's (one of our favorites) and ran into my cousin and her husband at the bar so we caught up with them for a while. They're on their way to Phoenix so of course we had suggestions for them on places to go and eat.
Saturday morning I got a massage. I splurged and upgraded to a 90 minute massage instead of the usual 50 minutes. So totally worth it! I have a membership at Massage Envy so to upgrade was only $18. If any of you have a membership I highly recommend it.
Saturday night we had plans to go to a work dinner for my husband. He's an engineer at a VERY large defense contractor and recently changed programs (and got promoted in my opinion). Every year his company has this dinner and in the past it's just been a dinner and dance. Well, this year they added a casino night to it so we decided to go. We got all dressed up and had a great time.
I should interject here that I don't gamble. I have no problem with you wasting your money per se but I'd rather go shopping and have something to show for mine. Just sayin'
Well, I was having a blast playing Black Jack. Our table had this really fun dealer who would give you an extra $500 chip if you got the first Black jack of a new deck. I got that chip a bunch! After the casino closed you traded in your chips for raffle tickets (hence the more money you had the more tickets you got). Each $1,000 in "money" was equal to one raffle ticket. Then you could place the tickets in the drawing for different items. There was a bunch to choose from. We didn't win anything we put our tickets in, but a guy and his wife my husband works with had tons of tickets and since each couple could only win two items they gave us their tickets after they won. So, we walked away with a set of solar lights for our front sidewalk. (Husband is worried that yard service will tear them up. But, then I mentioned they were free!)
Sunday, we went to church (as usual) and to lunch. We had a small group meeting Sunday night and then we were back home for the night.
All in all a pretty relaxing weekend (which I needed) and I'm hoping this next weekend is as well. We'll see...
