So, we (my husband, father in law and myself) went to Chamberlain's for dinner tonight to celebrate hubby's birthday. It was very good food and the service was as well. But, I do have one issue. I drank half a glass of wine and then saw a bug in my glass. So, rather than fish it our, husband said, let's get a new glass. OK.
So, the server took the glass away and came back with another full glass. I was then charged for two glasses, but only drank one and a half. I was perfectly fine with only one with my meal. (I mean it was pretty pricey!)
Should I have complained? Asked for one to have been taken off? Or, was it my stupid mistake for asking for a "new" glass? Just curious for next time.
Anyhow, the food was good, but not worth the money in my opinion. Of course I didn't have steak and my husband did and really enjoyed his. Sigh.

I would have complained. If there was a bug in the glass, then the second glass should have come free. Especially if this place was a pricy as you say.
You definitely shouldn't have been charged for the second glass. Most places, given the situation, should have given you a new glass for free...as in, you never get charged for the wine at all.
I'm glad the food was good though!
I would have complained - to be honest, the should have comped both glasses. I'm surprised it worked out this way. But since it was a wonderful meal otherwise, don't dwell. So glad your hubby had a great birthday. I've never been to Chamberlain's but I'm putting it on my list of places to try now that you spoke so well of it.
