Anniversary Gift

When the husband and I were making those huge decisions about really important things like china and crystal our mothers talked me into registering for sterling. It's surprising to me how many couples don't register for china and crystal so I had this feeling it was pointless to register for sterling silver flatware. I mean, let's be honest, our mothers have this but not our generation, right?

Well, my MIL was pushing really hard and so I decided, "OK, I'll pick some out, out it on the registry and see what happens. Worst case we don't get any, right?" And, I made a goal that if we got at least four place settings I would keep them and slowly build up to the full set. If not, I would return them and get more china or crystal.

Well, we got six place settings wither before or at our wedding. Crazy, huh? (More than half of that came from my MIL.) So, I've been wanting a chest to store all of it. As of yet, we haven't used it since I'm worried it will tarnish once we take it out of the plastic it comes in.

I'm SO excited! I just got this this from my mom as an early anniversary gift!

This is the chest I wanted from the very beginning. Mostly because it's modern and my silver is very plain (well, I guess I should say simple, plain sounds boring). And, most chests don't have the drawer for the larger serving pieces.

Can't wait to use my sterling now!

I love it too! I really wanted something like that as well but so far we just have felt pockets for our good flatware. Where is that case from?

ooh, nevermind, I found the link to PotteryBarn! (clearly I'm suffering from post lunch slowness). Thanks again for sharing!
