Do you ever have that brief moment where you wonder how well you actually know your significant other? You know when they say something that makes you think you might not agree on as many things as you had originally thought? Well, I had one of those moments this past weekend and I wanted to share.
You see we were having dinner with two friends of our who recently got engaged and she is very eager to start a family. So, we’re having the whole when and how any kids to have chat and telling them about another couple that’s expecting. She asks us if they’re having a boy or a girl and I mention that they aren’t going to find out the sex of the baby. “Oh, I’d want to know, how about you guys?” I responded with, “You get so few surprises in life I don’t want to know.” And my husband said he did want to know. Um, what did you say? (I’ve always wanted to be surprised, ever since I was a little girl I knew I didn’t want to know.)
So, now I’m wondering how I can convince him he doesn’t want to know. Not that we’re having a family any time soon, but still, it’s important to me. I’m pretty sure if he knows he’ll let it slip to me.
Does your SO ever surprise you out of left field? Anyhow, now I can stop thinking about it until I actually have a reason to, right?

It is always surprising when you find out something new about your spouse! I think since you will be the one carrying the baby, you get to decide. :)
Hahaha we have def had these moments!
You know, I'd say just have him know but have him not tell you. Unless that would ruin your fun?
that sounds like my hubbie. i told him the other day when we have kids (not for a while) that i didn't want to know. he was horrified. it was pretty funny! i think it's different for guys than girls.
We are in the same boat. Luckily our guys are pretty convinceable :)
Tell him since he doesn't surprise you on your birthday - this can make up for that (and future birthdays, too)!
Interesting! I'm not sure that Dan has surprised me like that yet. I'm sure he will soon though :-)
That's the beauty of marriage and a testimony to growing every day! Hope that he keeps on surprising you year after year.
