Weekend Update

We had a great weekend! By Friday I was feeling pretty chewed up and spit out from a crazy week at work. We had plans to meet our friends for dinner at Reata in downtown Fort Worth. I was looking forward to some good food and great company. We got both!

I had the most delicious Cosmo and really need to figure out how to make it at home. After dinner we went to Pete's Dueling Piano Bar and had a blast! We got there just early enough to get a table. (Very important since it's a long night if you have to stand.) Pete's is one of those places I always have fun at but forget it's there. So, I literally go about once a year. While there our friends introduced me to Tito's Texas Vodka and it was SO smooth. For those of you who enjoy a Grey Goose now and again, check out Tito's. Much more affordable and just as delicious.

Saturday, I slept in and it was wonderful! Hubs made french toast for breakfast and that was a nice treat. I finally got moving and went out to wash my car and buy groceries for our Father's Day lunch. I then came home and made two batches of chocolate chip cookies. I have this recipe that everyone in my family loves. I'm kind of famous for them now. (It was my mom's recipe, but she never makes them anymore.)

Then we went and met some friends for dinner. We went to a cute place in Fort Worth that only sell beer and wine so it's also BYOB. What we didn't realize is they charged us $15 to open each bottle. Um, yeah, cost of wine + corkage fee = very expensive vino! But, the food was really good, so I think we'd go back. We might just drink a lot less.

Small side note: We went with friends from Kickball. One of the player son my husband's team is a friend from my childhood. Her mom and my mom were best friends in high school and are still friends. Well, I hadn't seen this friend in many, many years. Like, since high school! It was much fun reminiscing about our childhood memories!

Sunday, we had to get up early to go to the 9am Mass since we were cooking dinner for my dad and his new wife for Father's Day. We made hamburgers and took everything over to grill by the pool. After lunch we hung out at the pool for the day and I soaked up a little too much sun. (My poor stomach hadn't seen the sun yet this summer so it's a lovely shade of red.) We stayed there most of the day and were planning on going to a movie but I was too wiped out.

I have another busy week at work and I'm really hoping my sunburn goes down rather quickly. My first big out of town event was last week and I'm hoping the feedback is positive as ALL kinds of things came up at the last minute because it was assumed I knew about them. I didn't (and I hope it doesn't make me look bad).

Have a great week lovelies!

I love Tito's. It is seriously an amazing vodka. The Mr. gave me a bottle on our 2nd date!
