Tim Gunn Wisdom, Part 2

A little more wisdom from the "Make It Work" master.

- When shopping online, pay close attention to the description of the fabric included with each item. It will often indicate the snugness of the fit. By doing a little research in your own closet, you can gauge how much 5 percent spandex in a pair of jeans will affect the fit, then apply your knowledge to future online endeavors.

- It is never a good idea to have a provocative word printed on the seat of your pants.

- There is nothing wring with employing control-top underwear, regardless of your age. If the dress is tight enough proper support underneath is a necessity.

- The chief ingredient of good taste is suitability - for the occasion and the wearer.

- Terrycloth is best restricted to activities involving water; after a bath, by the pool, or at the beach.

- While putting your cool-weather clothes away, make sure that everything is clean and in excellent shape. If anything needs a trip to the tailor, take it now rather than wait until the first snowfall to discover your best wool sweater is missing three buttons. The same goes for shoes: have them fixed before putting them away!

I'll bring you more words of Tim Gunn wisdom in a few weeks after I've gone through more days. Cheers!
