Fat Tuesday

Happy Mardi Gras everyone!
I'm feeling Fat Tuesday in another way today though. In getting ready for a job fair I discovered that my favorite suits no longer fit comfortably. I guess not working for the last month, having a bum knee, having water retention from meds and cooking a decent dinner for you husband adds up quite quickly. So, that being said I think I'll be venturing back to Weight Watchers. Now, WW has always been sort of hit or miss for me, but I have got to get back into my suits so I can get back to work. I don't really feel any differently and I haven't even really weighed myself yet (since we don't have a decent scale in the house), but the clothes not fitting is a real issue. Especially since I'm not buying any right now. Know what I mean. So, I guess I need to get my bum knee back in shape so I can get back to the gym.

Oh, and the meds is an interesting story as well. I have Migraine and have been on preventive medication for them for several years. My Neurologist, (who is great by the way for those of you in the DFW area) upped the dosage on one of my prescriptions. Now, right away I noticed my headaches got much better. Good thing. Then a couple of weeks ago I felt like my feet were hurting more than normal. And I noticed the swelling! I had sausage toes and cankles! No kidding. my lower legs were SO swollen. So I'm googling "swollen feet and ankles" and almost everything says it's a symptom of being pregnant. WHAT! No Way! Then I find it's a side effect of the medication we recently doubled. Oh, that's what it is. Phew! So, I cut the dosage back to the half I was on before (this was Friday and I couldn't wait for relief) and so far the swelling has gone down a little and the migraines are still in check. Let's  hope it stays that way.

So, after the job fair (that I may be going naked to) I'll be heading to the gym to at least get on the bike for a while and let's hope my shoes fit tonight when I go to the crawfish boil!

Bonne Mardi Gras!
